Kaitlyn has been helping bridge the communication gap between dogs and owners since 2015, and has dipped her toe in every dog sport she can get a chance at (not kidding - herding, flyball, tracking, nose work, dock diving, disc, treibball, trick dog, rally obedience, just to name a few), but her heart is tied to agility and behavior modification. Kaitlyn believes firmly in the CPDT’s policy of “least intrusive, minimally aversive” training (more info here) and hopes to give every dog owner the abilitiy to work in partnership with their dog, no matter the environment.

Kaitlyn is an active competitor aimed toward the national level, heavily involved with many dog training clubs in the area, and co-captain of the Northern WA Toss & Fetch League based in Mount Vernon. She is very thankful to have the support of so many wonderful mentors, such as Eric Sanford @ A Savvy Dog and Darcey Shank @ A Pawsitive Difference.

Demo Dog

Though he be but small, he is mighty. An agility powerhouse, avid flyballer, and competitor in the 2018 North American Diving Dogs National Championship in his free time; a steady, polite presence for other dogs to work with while he’s on the job. It was this little mini American shepherd’s reactivity that started this whole journey, and we can’t thank him enough for each and every hard-won battle.

Sike came to us in a whirlwind, and by that we mean that we literally stepped off the plane from a five day dock diving adventure in Florida and were handed this 8-week old hurricane of a German koolie. Sike is just starting to accompany us to class where she’s learning the ins and outs of being a neutral presence, but at home she’s been putting in the foundation work for flyball, dock diving, agility, scent sports, and anything else she wants to try!
